What to Expect
Your First Visit to HABC
Visiting a church for the first time can feel unfamiliar. We want to make your visit to Huisache Avenue Baptist Church as simple and comfortable as possible.
When you arrive, you can expect a warm welcome, congregational singing, prayer, and clear preaching from the King James Bible.
You do not need to make a reservation or dress a certain way. Come as you are, and one of our greeters will be glad to help you find where you need to go.
When You Arrive
We recommend arriving about 10–15 minutes early, especially when bringing children.
Our greeters can help you:
Find the auditorium
Locate the nursery or children’s classrooms
Meet your child’s teacher
Find comfortable seating
Answer questions about the service
What Is a Service Like?
Our services are centered on worshiping the Lord and hearing His Word preached.
You can expect:
Congregational Singing
Our church family sings hymns and Christian songs that praise the Lord and communicate biblical truth.
Prayer
We pray for our church, families, missionaries, community, and the needs of those attending.
Bible Preaching
You will hear clear preaching from the King James Bible with practical application for everyday life.
A Welcoming Atmosphere
Our services are friendly and welcoming while remaining reverent and focused on the Lord.
Most services last approximately one hour to one hour and fifteen minutes.
Only use that final sentence when it accurately reflects the normal length of your services. The current page promises that every service lasts about one hour.
What Should I Wear?
There is no dress code for visitors.
Some people wear dresses, suits, or dress shirts, while others come in more casual clothing. We want you to feel welcome and focus on the reason you came—to worship the Lord and hear His Word.
Come in clothing that is comfortable and appropriate for attending church.
What About My Children?
Children are welcome at HABC.
Nursery
Nursery care is available during regular services for children from birth through age two.
Sunday School
Age-appropriate Sunday School classes are available for children and teenagers on Sundays at 10:00 a.m.
Wednesday Evenings
During the school year, children may participate in Master Clubs while teenagers attend Momentum Student Ministry.
One of our greeters will help your family find the correct room and meet the leaders caring for your children.

Will I Be Singled Out?
No.
Visitors are not required to stand, speak publicly, or identify themselves during the service. You are welcome to participate at your own comfort level.
We may invite guests to complete a connection card so that we can thank you for visiting, but providing information is entirely your choice.
Will I Be Asked to Give Money?
Visitors are not expected to give.
Our regular members support the ministry of the church through their giving. You are welcome to simply attend, worship, and receive from the service.
This is an especially helpful section for nervous first-time visitors and is currently missing from the page.
What Bible Do You Use?
Our preaching and teaching are from the King James Bible.
You are welcome to bring your own Bible. Bibles are also available at the church when needed.
What Happens After the Service?
After the service, you are welcome to meet the pastors, ask questions, and spend time getting acquainted with the church family.
There is no pressure to join immediately. We encourage visitors to attend, hear the preaching, learn what we believe, and take time to determine where the Lord would have them worship and serve.
