Huisache Avenue Baptist Church is committed to helping missionaries preach the gospel, establish churches, disciple believers, and serve the Lord in communities throughout the United States and around the world.

Through faithful prayer, financial support, missionary visits, and personal involvement, our church family has the privilege of partnering with those who have answered God’s call to go.

Why Missions Matter

Every person, in every nation, needs the opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We believe the local church has a responsibility not only to reach its own community, but also to help send and support faithful missionaries who are carrying the gospel where we cannot personally go.

Our mission’s ministry seeks to:

• Support missionaries through regular prayer

• Provide dependable financial assistance

• Introduce our church family to missionary needs

• Encourage missionaries and their families

• Help establish gospel-preaching churches

• Inspire the next generation to surrender to God’s call

• Keep the Great Commission before our church throughout the year

How HABC Supports Missions

Faithful Prayer

Missionaries face spiritual opposition, cultural challenges, family pressures, financial needs, travel difficulties, and many unexpected burdens.

We regularly pray for their families, ministries, health, safety, spiritual strength, and opportunities to share the gospel.

Financial Support

Through missions giving, HABC helps missionaries continue the work God has called them to do.

These gifts help support evangelism, church planting, discipleship, travel, ministry materials, and other needs connected with their work.

Missionary Presentations

Missionaries regularly visit HABC to present their ministries, report on what God is doing, and help our church understand the spiritual needs of different places around the world.

Pray for Our Missionaries

Financial support is important, but missionaries also need the faithful prayers of God’s people.

We encourage our church family to pray for:

• Protection and good health

• Strong marriages and families

• Faithful national pastors and workers

• Spiritual strength during discouragement

• Provision for ministry needs

Every gift helps faithful missionaries continue preaching the gospel and serving the Lord in the fields to which He has called them.

Missions is not only something we support financially. God still calls believers to surrender their lives to carry the gospel to others.

That may mean serving in another nation, helping establish a church, supporting a missionary family, reaching an international community in San Antonio, or becoming more personally involved in evangelism.

We want every member to be willing to ask:

“Lord, what would You have me to do?”

Anyone who senses that the Lord may be leading them toward missions is encouraged to speak with one of our pastors.
